Rideau Canal open for skating

Rideau Canal in Ottawa open for skating, January 23, 2011. It is the oldest continuously operated canal system in North America. In 2007 it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In winter part of the Rideau Canal starting from downtown Ottawa and towards Dows Lake becomes officially recognized world's largest skating rink.
